Huzurala (TUS) said in waaz on 9 Moharram 1426H that:
“I, Mumluko Ale Mohammed, have built the Saifee Hospital in remembrance of my revered father Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA) and in his name. The Khidmat Guzaars who have undertaken this project have strived that it is ‘One of the best hospitals with most modern equipments’.”Moula (TUS) prayed for the completion of the project and expressed his desire that the inauguration of Saifee Hospital be held between the occasions of Milad Imam uz-Zaman (AS) and his own 94th Milad Mubarak.
Saifee Hospital is a pearl in a necklace, a wonderful and beautiful piece of
architecture located at Charni Road in Mumbai, India. The entire structure
is designed with a blend of Fatemi and modern architecture. The
hospital has become an important landmark of Mumbai. Its exterior reflects the past and present
in its eye-catching design. It is the only building in Mumbai with three basement levels, which
extend 45ft below ground level, including a portion below sea level. Saifee Hospital has 10
floors and stands tall at 175ft above ground level, making it the tallest hospital in Mumbai.
Modern technology is used to the highest extent; for example, solar energy will be used for boilers and heating purposes. Linens, laundry and used equipment will be sterilised using world-class equipment.
Saifee Hospital is the only hospital in Mumbai which has diagnostic departments, facilities and equipment for all ailments. It is also the only hospital in Mumbai which has a water desalination and purification plant built to WHO standards. Water is purified to the extent that it can be used for intake from any tap from within the hospital.
The hospital has two generators that supply emergency power within 10 seconds of a power failure so that any treatments, especially operations are not affected.
It is the only hospital in Mumbai where a significant portion of an entire floor is dedicated to alternative medicine such as Yoga. The physiotherapy department, fitness center, library and auditorium are also located on this floor.
Another floor is dedicated to operation theatres (OT) and maternity wards. Saifee Hospital has a total of six OTs. Each OT has a special lighting system that is not found anywhere else in India. This equipment is especially helpful during complex surgery. Special cameras have been installed for monitoring and viewing operations with the consent of the patient. This enables doctors to consult with other doctors located anywhere in the world during an operation in the case of an emergency.
The hospital was built in approximately four years and was officially inaugurated on 4 June 2005 by the Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh on the occasion of the 94th Milad Mubarak of Aqa Maula (TUS). It is Huzurala's (TUS) dua mubarak that patients return from Saifee Hospital fully cured.
May Allah Subhanahu bless our beloved Aqa Moula Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) and grant him a long and healthy life. Ameen.
