On Wednesday 18th July 2001 Huzurala TUS once again made history. It was the 1st time ever that Al-Dai al-Fatemi visited the House of Lords. Lord Nazir Ahmed had organised a dinner in the house of Lords to commomerate the 90th Milad Mubarak of Huzurala TUS. Huzurala TUS was warmly recieved by the Lords and other dignitaries present. One special event of the evening was that Huzurala TUS delivered his speech in fluent english. Somebody did araz to Huzurala TUS that a person who had not seen Aqamoula but had only listened to his voice would have positively thought that a British subject was delivering a speech.

One of the Lords wished that the House of Lords should have the presence of Syedna and his wisdom, through which the house could further prosper.

The House Of Lords

Inaugurated in the 14th century in the Palace of Westminster, London, the House Of Lords is part of the oldest parliamentary democracy in the world. The colourful and regal ceremony of the State Opening of Parliament takes place in the House every year where Her Majesty the Queen gives a speech (written by the Government) setting out Parliament's working agenda for that year.

In conjunction with the House Of Commons, the major task of the House Of Lords is to examine and pass legislation. It also serves to check on the government by scrutinising its activities by asking questions, debating policy and through its Select Committees, taking evidence from Ministers and others. The House Of Lords also has the important judicial role as the highest Court Of Appeal in the land.

Further information about the House Of Lords can be found at their website at http://www.parliament.uk/.
