The Qur'an says : "We have indeed made to descend (al-Qur'an) on Lailatul Qadr. And what will convey to you what Lailatul Qadr is! Lailatul Qadr is better han a thousand months. The Angels and the Spirit descend therein by the permission of their Lord with all decrees; Peace!Until the rise of the dawn".(97:1-5) An interpretation of the Ayah "Tanazzalul Mala'ekato....", "The angels and the spirit descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair" has been related by Imam Mohammad ul-Baqir (AS). The Imam Says that "During this night Angels of Allah decend in this night to the heavens of the earth and write the fate of the people and their worldly affairs for the commencing year. Those affairs then await the orders of Allah. Allah effaceth what He will, and establisheth and with Him is the source of ordinance."
Lailatul Qadr is the night that is full of blessings because the Eminent Qur'an descended in it. The Qur'an is peace by itself. It distinguishes between the good and evil and shows the path of eternal Peace and Bliss to all Mankind forever. This being so, the Night in which this Divine Book was sent down is worthy of great esteem. During this night the Angels descend. Their nearness to earth gives a spiritual luster to the hearts and souls of the believer. Rasulallah (SAW), Aimmat Tahereen and Doat Kiram (AS) passed this night in prayer and worship of Allah. This night is said to be the most auspicious nights of all. Several Hadith and incidents are related by from the Messenger of Allah and Aimmat Tahereen (AS) that declare the divine status of this night amongst the believers.
Amirul Mumineen (AS) used to say that . Ask Allah for Hajj in these auspicious nights the 17th, 19th, 21st and the 23rd night of the month of Ramadhan. As, the names of the Hajjis for the coming Hajj are written on Laylatul Qadr. And it is this night that, as Allah Says:
In the (Night) is made distinct every command of wisdom. (44:4)
Imam Mohammad ul-Baqir relates to Rasullalah (SA), he has forbidden that a person neglect the 21st and 23rd night of Ramadhan.
The Imam (AS) relates that Rasullalah (SA) has said "Allah will forgive the past sins and those to follow, for him, who passes Lailatul Qadr in Ibadat" Further more, the Imam (AS) relates that a person from 'Juhainah' came to Rasullalah (SA) and being from a far of land and a big family asked him to appoint a night in the month of Ramadhan in which he could visit Medina and offer prayers with him. Rasulallah (SA) then, confided him of a night. On every 23rd of Ramadhan he would come to Medina with his herds and kin, stay up with the Prophet (SA) praying, and would leave the next morning.
Amiral Mumineen (AS) says that: When Rasullalah (SA) was questioned about Lailatul Qadr, he said that "Seek it during the last ten days of Ramadhan, for I have seen it but was made to forget it; but I remember seeing myself praying that night in water and mud." Amirul Mumineen (AS) says that when the 23rd night arrived it rained heavily and the Masjid was soaked. Rasullalah (SA) led us in prayers while the tip of his nose had mud on it (because of sujud).
Moulatena Fatema (TUS) took great care in making preparations for this night. She cooked a light meal so that it would not effect the alertness during the whole night. It is said that she would sprinkle water on Imam Hasan and Husain (AS) to keep them alert. Moulatena Fatema (AS) says that "He who is deprived of the blessings of this night is indeed bereft of all good."
Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA) has said in one of his Munajat that "Surely Lailatul Qadr is a pride for Shehre Ramadhan".
Aqa Moula Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin (TUS) stated this year in the Zikra waaz that "I am worried about those mumineen who have been negligent of their duties and Shariat. I ask them to at least come in Lailatul Qadr and Ashura. With their barakat, Allah will grant them tawfiq so as to enable them to take up his responsibilities as a mumin". He said further "After this, if one still neglects these auspicious occasions, then I worry for him - for his status in the hereafter!" (Note: The above are not the exact wordings of Aqa Moula (TUS) but its closest expression.)
All Hamd to Allah who has guided us to the knowledge of this great night and its importance. A Mumin who pass this night in Prayer, experiences an unimaginable bliss, a deep feeling of great pleasure as a result of immense heavenly blessings in this night. Our Doat Kiram (AS) have since long guided us and led us in the Ibadat of Allah Subhanahu and showed us the way of interception by his Awliya Kiram (AS) for seeking Allah's blessing, mercy and forgiveness. Today Aqa Moula (TUS) leads us and guides us in the same manner as his predecessors. Every year Aqa Moula (TUS) writes Munajat seeking closeness to Allah Subhanahu and his bounties, and remembers mumineen worldwide in his Dua Mubarak. Mumineen on the other hand ask Allah for his health and long life. We pray Allah in the words of Moula (TUS) himself, Moula says (Munajaat Sharifah - 1385H) :
ايا ربنا اسمع لي وللمؤمنين ما
دعوناك وانظرنا بوجهـك مقبلا
Oh Lord, hear my prayers and that of mumineem,
and keep us in your merciful sight .
ايا ربنا اجعل رزقنا واسعاً كذا
اجعل عسرنا باليسر منك مقبلا
Oh Lord, widen our rizq
and change our difficulties to ease.
